Title: “The International University Sport Movement Inspiring the Sport Leaders of Tomorrow”

Eric Saintrond is a Secretary General/CEO of the International University Sports Federation (FISU). Graduated from the Faculty of Motor Sciences (ISM) of the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB), Belgium, Eric Saintrond began his career in the private sector, the academic circles and of course, in national and international sports organizations. Quickly captivated by the university sports movement, he joined the administrative headquarters of the International University Sports Federation (FISU) in 1985. While continuing his activities in the private sector and education, he quickly evolved within FISU and held the positions of the Director of the Games, General Director and finally Secretary General/CEO, the position he has been holding since 2007.

Celebrating the signing an MOU between FISU and DTM, he gave a special lecture about “The International University Sport Movement Inspiring the Sport Leaders of Tomorrow” on November 17th, 2016 at Seoul National University Building 101 Room 210. At first, he introduced what FISU does and when it had been inaugurated, followed by coping with the main issues in sports community such as doping, corruption, violence, racism, etc. and urging the necessity for using sports as an educational tool for society. Lastly, he inspired DTM students to run forward to become a good future sports leader and gave several specific suggestions to achieve it. The lecture was finished with an active session and networking among students and the lecturer.
